In order to create an awareness and to quench the thirst for knowledge, Short term Courses  are periodically conducted for the benefit of the general public and the student community on the topics like Telescope Making, Astronomy and Astrophysics, etc., The announcement about the programmes are made in the leading newspapers. These programmes are very popular in the society.

For the cognition development of the children and to make class-room  teaching interesting away from normal  set-up of education, training programmes on 'Learner Centered Approach in Science Teaching' are organised for the Assistant Elementary Education Officers, Head Masters and  Science Teachers of Tamilnadu.
